Multiplayer


Hey Guys,

We are very thrilled to introduce two major changes to our game.


Gamepad support

A lot of players seemed frustrated to play a platformer with a mouse, we added gamepad support for them.

We did not have time to add a tutorial with gamepad, so here are the controls (you can also see them on our loading screen)

  • While in the air, use left stick to choose the direction where you want to go
  • Hit A to burst (propel yourself in the direction you are targetting
  • Hook points will be selected by default when you encounter them. You can change the current selected hook point by using R1 / R2
  • Hit L2 to send your grappling hook to the currently selected hook point
  • Hit R2 to auto select the nearest hook point in front of your character and send your grappling hook to it
  • While hooked, you can pull the rope using right stick: simply point toward the direction you want to go

You can switch between gameplay controls (mouse or gamepad) by hitting A on your gamepad or using the left click on your mouse.


Multiplayer

We went to a gaming convention and one of the publishers asked for multiplayer. We had not really considered it, so we decided to at least try it.

We released an endless level with 4 players. That means you need 4 controllers to play it (you can play with less people if you let the others die at the beginning).

This level is still highly experimental, do not hesitate to contact us in case of issue. Keep in mind that, like endless level, powers are placeholders and have not been designed yet.


Other changes

We are still working on the rest of the game, here is what we did in the past months:

  • End of level mark: you will now have bats showing you where the end of the level is
  • Better burst indicator: you can now see how many times you can burst with the indicator UI
  • Even more animations: we added some animations to the main character
  • Worm powers balance:
    • Fireball: decreased base cooldown and start angle
    • Laser: decreased base cooldown
    • Gravity burst: decreased duration and added a signal at the beginning
    • Wind: decreased duration


Future of the game

We are currently working on a complete graphics overhaul to have better delimitation of the level elements. We are still looking for a publisher.
